CDM Regulations 2007
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007
came into force on 6th April 2007. They replace CDM 1994 and the
Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996.
The role of Planning Supervisor has been changed to Co-ordinator
and is much wider than that of a Planning Supervisor.
We have undertaken the role of Planning Supervisor since 1994 and
we will be able to provide the appropriate competent Co-ordinator.
The Co-ordinator will assist you to carry out your duties under
CDM 2007 and to co-ordinate the health and safety of the project.
The major change in relation to the role of the Co-ordinator is
the timing of the appointment with a legal duty on Clients and Designers
not to progress designs without a Co-ordinator being appointed.
There is also an increased emphasis on competency checks and the
way they are conducted.
As members of the Association of Project Safety we will
meet the competency requirements of the Co-ordinator role.
CDM-Co-ordination - will provide the Client with an empowered
and key health and safety advisor who will be pivotal in the planning
and co-ordination of the project.
